Hello
All,
Well, we are into our second week of "full-timin'" and
have settled outside of Phoenix for the next week or so. We drove
up to Eugene, OR to have some work done on our "coach"
and ended up staying there for three days. Saw some good friends
and ate some excellent breakfasts at Serena's Diner
in Harrisburg, OR.
We were going to go to Seattle, WA for a week, but after five
days of relentless rain, we decided to get to Phoenix, AZ for
some fun in the sun and to pick up our new car that we had purchased
on the internet. We drove from Eugene to Portland, then over through
Idaho to Salt Lake City, UT and then on to Las Vegas
before
we started to hit the good weather. Our park here in Phoenix is
very nice, we have trees at our site and birds singing all day.
Our new car is a fabulous 94 Fuchsia Geo Tracker convertible which
runs great and is an ideal car for us to tow behind the rig..We
bid on it on EBay and got a great deal and so far...so good. We
picked it up a couple of days ago, and were in and out of the
dealer's in less than an hour.
While in Phoenix, we've been fixing up the interior of the coach
to our liking, which includes changing all the gold handles and
hinges to chrome (anyone want some new handles? We've got 54...)
and replacing lighting fixtures, etc.
Last night we set up our Crate & Barrel butterfly chairs,
had a BBQ and drank white wine in the warm evening air.
We're heading to LA on April 5. We've booked a park right on the
beach near Marina del Rey. Wally's son Henry arrives from London
for two weeks on April 6 and we'll spend a week in San Diego at
a family fun park before heading back to LA for Passover with
the family. We'll be heading back to SF for a couple of weeks
after April 20th, and then the plan is to start heading towards
the East Coast.
Please email us when you have a chance. We've been able to get
internet access most everywhere, not necessarily the fastest connections
all the time, but we're figuring that out. Cell phones work, so
please call as well. We will keep you updated on our whereabouts,
so if you'd like to come meet us somewhere, let us know.
We'll have our web site up in the next couple of weeks. Mobilelifestyle.com
is the address and we'll have all kinds of tips for living on
the road and updates on our travels.
Keep in touch and keep on truckin'
Rina & Wally
UPDATE:
May 10, 2006
Hey All,
So sorry for
the delay in getting this out to you all, but having to think
about creative plumbing, staying within the lanes on the highway,
and towing your car behind your house, all takes a bit of getting
used to. We are currently with Henry in San Diego at Campland
on the Bay. Henry's having a great time, we see him for
about two hours a day, usually when he's between the pool and
the basketball courts.
We've found
our favorite RV Park so far: Dockweiler State Beach which is just
north of Manhattan Beach in Los Angeles. This was the view
from our front window. Just beautiful.
We'll be working
on our web site while in LA for Passover, so we hopefully will
have something up in a couple of weeks.
Take Care,
Rina &
Wally
